Stone’s Citracado is a clever beer that combines a citrusy hop bouquet from the Citra variety with avocado flower honey. A Double IPA that hammers up a 9.0% ABV delivers an interesting brew that I was happy enough to sample.
The beer pours a nice copper orange with a sustaining foam head and great lacing. Carbonation is pretty subdued though, which is notable given the head’s character. Mouth feel is moderate which delivers a medium body. The high ABV definitely left me feeling it after drinking, so not something I’d classify as sessionable, but probably better as a one-off. Great beer though. As a side note, Citracado Parkway is the street that Stone Brewery is located on in Escondido, California.
